White Coppice made it three wins on the bounce with a resounding 121-run victory against Ingol with Freckleton.
Jake Smalley continued his good form with the ball with 4-10, while Ryan Adderley added another unbeaten 66 with the bat in his prolific season.
However, the highlight was Mike Houghton’s contender for catch of the season and Joe Seager’s remarkable run-out with his right foot!
White Coppice suffered a blow on the morning of the match when the previously ever present Ussy Akram had to drop out because of injury which meant Nathan Shepard was drafted in.
Smalley batted first after winning the toss and Matthew McGuinn and Chris Maguire shared a partnership of 27 for the first wicket because the former was LBW.
Maguire – who gave a debut to his new batting pads – hit nine fours in his innings of 48 off 56 balls before he was bowled trying to bring up his second half century of the season.
Adderley took his tally of league runs to 571 at an absurd average of 142 with a patient 66 not out off 123 balls to take Coppice to 200-6.
He was well supported by Antony Dark, who smashed 26 off 16 balls, including his 26th six of the season.
Ingol and Freckleton’s reply got off to a terrible start when captain Tom Sandells hit his second ball to Maguire at cover, who pouched his 100th catch for White Coppice.
James Carroll (12) and Pradeep Bandarupalli (30) took the score to 45 before Carroll was LBW to Tinsley – his 25th league victim of the season.
Bandarupalli, who scored 83 against White Coppice earlier in the season, was caught behind off an absolute beauty from Shepard, which triggered the loss of eight wickets for 30 runs.
Captain Smalley took 4-10 and now has 18 league wickets for the season but he was indebted to a couple of excellent catches by Adderley and Houghton.

Houghton’s catch was a contender for catch of the season. Durgaprasad Madanomoni pulled his third ball to midwicket, where Houghton dived full length to grab the ball two-handed as it whistled past him.
Joe ‘Freed From Desire’ Seager then ran out Adam Collingwood in bizarre circumstances. After dropping a catch at midwicket he lashed out with his right foot – and diverted the ball onto the stumps to complete an unlikely run-out.
The game ended in comedy circumstances when last man Neveed Khan was also run out by a combination of Maguire and Smalley.
The win took Coppice up to fourth ahead of next Saturday’s game against second-placed Leyland.
· White Coppice’s Sunday team lost by six wickets against Bolton by Bowland. Batting first Syed Bukjari (22) and Jithin Joseph (30 not out) top scored as Coppice were bowled out for 112. The visitors reached 114-4 in the 17th over with Ibby Akram taking 3-38.
