Ryan Adderley starred with the bat and ball as White Coppice 1st XI won a tight game away at Norcross.
Returning skipper Jake Smalley lost another toss and Norcross decided to bat first in testing conditions.
Matt Tinsley (2-23 off 15 overs) and Ian Aldred (1-29 off 12) bowled though and Norcross were languishing at 39-2 at the midpoint in their innings.
Tinsley now has 199 wickets in his career, which started at Chorley, and on another day would have comfortably taken a five fer.
Norcross opener Haris Pervaiz scored two off 29 balls before becoming one of Tinsley’s two victims.

The home side needed some impetus and in-form Syed Hashmi provided it with 60 off 75 balls, including three of only four fours struck in the Norcross innings.
Anis Haider made his 1st XI debut for White Coppice and was unlucky not to get his at least one wicket.
Instead, it was left to Adderley to take his career best figures of 6-26 as Norcross slipped from 70-3 to 122 all out, aided by an excellent catch and run-out from Uzzy Akram.
White Coppice’s batsmen found it equally tough with openers Bobby Wood (14 off 42 balls) and Uzzy Akram (10 off 42 balls) curbing their natural attacking instincts to lay a foundation.
Adderley was similarly circumspect, scoring two off his first 20 balls as he hit his only four in the 41st over.
He ended up on 38 not out off 88 balls, taking his tally of runs for the season to 437.
At 73-5 the game was in the balance until Ant Dark blasted an unbeaten 30 off 24 balls to secure the 12 points.
· Coppice 2nd XI lost by 71 runs to Burscough in a game played on Sunday. Adam Mannan quickly dismissed both openers to leave Burscough languishing at 9-2 but Tom Baker (41) and Aaron Craven (58) took the score to a competitive 185-8. Special mention for Chris Hoyle, who took 3-36. In reply only four Coppice players reached double figures with Akshit Jagnani top scoring with 27 as they were bowled out for 114.
· Fresh from his heroics against MCC, Joe Seager captained a Sunday friendly team at the picturesque Bolton By Bowland ground but could not prevent a nine-wicket defeat. Chris Scott provided staying power at the top of the innings with a patient innings of 16 while the returning Max Lawrenson top scored with a knock of 19. The only other batter to reach double figures was Phil Caswell (13) as Coppice were bowled out for 68. There was even a guest appearance from Graham Hardyman. An early wicket for Harry Astley, caught by Jim Lawrenson at square leg, provided a glimmer of hope but a flurry of boundaries gave Bolton By Bowland the win in double quick time.
