White Coppice picked up 24 points on Saturday with both the 1st XI and 2nd XI teams enjoying convincing wins.
Captain Jake Smalley was one of the heroes of the 1st XI’s 50-run win against Longridge 4ths while Amaan Ughradar’s maiden 50 for the club helped the 2nds to a much-needed 91-run against Blackpool 4th XI.
In the 1st XI, Longridge were a much stronger outfit than when the two sides met earlier this season and they had no hesitation in bowling first when they won the toss.Openers Chris Maguire (25) and Bobby Wood (13) made a quick start, putting on 36 for the first wicket before Wood drove Tim Wilkinson to mid-off.
Maguire played some good shots before being caught in the gully by Ben McGrath – the first of his four catches.
Mattthew McGuinn and one of last week’s centurions, Richard Bush, departed in quick succession to leave Coppice languishing at 54-4.
Usmaan Akram (22) steadied the ship with a crucial partnership of 46 with Adderley before he was LBW to leave the score 100-5.
However, there was no respite for Longridge’s bowlers as Antony Dark promptly hit his second ball for his 24th six of the season.
Dark added another six and seven fours on his way to a counter-attacking 36-ball 52 as he dominated a 76-run partnership with Adderley.
At the other end, pocket rocket Adderley was in sublime form hitting 72 off 106 balls, taking him to 505 league runs at an incredible average of 126.
Adderley also hit 88 not out against the same opposition in the first game of the season so they must be sick of the sight of him.
White Coppice eventually closed on an impressive 213-9.
In reply, Matt Tinsley ripped out both openers in a spell of 2-39 while Ibby Akram was also impressive with 1-31 off eight accurate overs.
Alfie Emmett was run out by a brilliant throw from Richard Bush but the star of the show was skipper Jake Smalley, who took his best figures for Coppice with 6-41.
It was Smalley’s second five-fer in three matches and is testimony to all the hard work he’s been putting in during training – but even he’d admit he benefited from several outstanding catches on Saturday.
Joe Seager did his best Inspector Gadget impression by taking a screaming one right-handed catch at square leg off a firmly clipped shot by the unlucky Darren Keighley.

Adderley also took a brilliant running boundary catch off a Alec Hough skier while Usmaan Akram took another screamer at wide long off to dismiss Longridge captain Tom Denby.
Fittingly, Smalley completed his five-fer with a one-handed caught and bowled to dismiss Thomas Morrissey.
White Coppice 2nd XI returned to winning ways with a convincing 91-run at Blackpool 4th XI.
Captain Matt Cuerden finally won a toss and decided to bat first in the drizzle.
Openers Jeff Smith (13 off 54 balls) and Akshit Jagnani (16 off 43 balls) shared a patient 1st wicket partnership of 38 with Smith pulling out a couple of surprise paddle shots.
The bounce on the pitch was very inconsistent and the long grass made boundary hitting for both teams difficult.
Amaan Ughradar and Anis Haider got the run rate going, taking the score to 93 before Haider went for 30 off 35 balls.
Anoop Appu hit a quickfire 26 off 25 balls and shared a 55-run partnership with Ughradar, who closed on an undefeated 61 off 65 balls – the first of hopefully many 50s for the club – as Coppice finished on 171-5.
Blackpool’s opener, Paul Danson, was the 1st XI captain for many years and hit 32 off 56 balls before falling victim to an excellent catch by Jordan Halliday, who later ran out Aaron Rajesh with a smart piece of fielding.
Danson Snr dropped down to the 4th team to play in the same side as his 12-year-old son Jimmy, who showed great technique in his 88-ball innings of 19.
Coppice’s fielding was sensational with seven catches – including a one-handed grab at slip by Jeff Smith and a catch over his shoulder by Nathan Shepard.
James Field was excellent behind the stumps while Ughradar completed a good all round game with figures of 4-17, his best for the club.
On Sunday a much-changed White Coppice 2nd XI slipped to a 170-run defeat to a strong Norcross team. Norcross’ openers Anesh Chirumamilla (119) and Michael Griffiths (85) shared an opening partnership of 215 as they declared on 264-2 off 36 overs. Special mention to Junayed Ilyas for an outstanding diving catch. In reply, captain Martin Cuerden hit the opening bowler for a straight six before perishing for an entertaining 19. Ilyas (17 not out off 70 balls) and Mike Houghton (30 off 65) shared a 57-run partnership for the 3rd wicket as Coppice closed on 94-4 off 33 overs.
